What is God*s will for your life? What is God*s calling on your life? Someone may say, *Well, Brother Wil, God has called me to preach.* Someone else may just as easily say, *Well, Wil, I am working with computer programming, but I can*t say that it is God*s calling. I just don*t know.* I can tell you what God*s calling is. Now I*m not presuming to know the details of God*s plan for your life, but I do know part of God*s calling because 1 Thessalonians 4:7 tells us, *For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.* So God has called you, as a believer in the Lord Jesus, to holiness, to be separate, to be different. That is God*s call.
Holiness is more than just what you do. It is what you are. You are accepted in Christ. If you are saved, you are fundamentally different from everybody else. You are not going to Hell; you are going to Heaven. You are not part of darkness; you are part of light. You are in Christ. Your actions need to reflect and be in harmony with what you are. You are a work of Christ.
What is God*s will? 1 Thessalonians 4:3 says, *For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication.* God*s will is more about your integrity and your life matching your position in Christ than it is about your vocation or where you go. I am not saying that God doesn*t have specific details lined out for you. I am simply saying that those don*t matter if you are not taking care of the most basic areas of your life.
Whatever else God wants you to do, God wants you to be set apart to Him, not just by what He sees by your position, but in what other people see by your actions. We are holy, and we are to be holy. God is most concerned about what you are at heart when no one is watching. There should be a level of integrity that*s a platform for you to do whatever God has gifted you to do. God*s will for you today as a child of God is to live holy and to do right. Your actions should be a reflection of your position in Christ.
